🍒 NEW PLAYERS 🍒 2026/10/30

We had two new players join us this week, starting with Tony Spadafora, who made his first appearance Sunday night at Carrigan Arms.

And wouldn't you know it, Tony's very first question was, "What's the buy-in?"

I explained that Dead Man's Hand Poker is a free points-based league, with championships every four months and no tournament buy-ins.

Now, I've had this conversation plenty of times before, especially with people inquiring online. Usually, once they discover there's no money to be won at our regular tournaments, that's the last I ever hear from them!

And I'll admit, Tony looked a little puzzled by the whole concept at first.

But to his credit, he decided to give us a try anyway!

Not only did Tony sit down and play Sunday night, he came back for more on Wednesday!

Apparently, there's something to this whole playing-poker-for-fun business after all! 😂

We also welcomed Benita Krauklis, who was brought along by Lesli Gladstone and made her first appearance Wednesday night at our Halloween Spooktacular!

Neither Tony nor Benita ventured into costume territory for their first Halloween event with us, but that's perfectly understandable. You've got to get to know this bunch before deciding whether you want to dress up like the rest of us!

I hope they both had a wonderful time and got a little taste of just how much fun we like to have at Dead Man's Hand Poker!

Welcome aboard, Tony and Benita! We're glad to have you at the tables!

Don’t forget: every time you bring in a new player, you both earn 5 reward cards. If that player sticks around and plays 5 times, you’ll each get an additional 10 reward cards. Even the walk-ins who just show up out of curiosity will benefit from the bonus reward cards right away!
