SHIVANG RAICHURA WINS AT CARRIGAN ARMS

The ladies were out in full force Sunday night at Carrigan Arms, and for a while there, it looked like the gentlemen might be better off just packing up their chips and going home!
Of the 15 players who finished in the points, NINE were women! And as the field got smaller, their numbers became even more impressive. Nine of the final 14, eight of the final 11, and five of the eight players at the final table were women!
But apparently, Shivang Raichura hadn't received the memo.
Shiv managed to survive the formidable competition and work his way through a field of 48 players and 60 entries to claim his second victory of the Harvest Moon season and fourth career win!
WTG, Shiv!
And let's not forget, Shiv is also our reigning Dog Days Main Champion, having captured that title back in September. Apparently, winning championships isn't enough for this guy. He still wants the regular tournaments, too!
But getting there wasn't easy, and the final two hands provided a particularly entertaining finish.
With just Shiv and Chanté Perry remaining, the penultimate hand looked like it was heading for a chopped pot. Both players were holding similar hands, and neither appeared to have much of an advantage.
Then a three appeared on the river, giving Chanté the pot and keeping her tournament hopes alive!
One hand later, we had almost exactly the same situation!
This time, Shiv was holding K-8, while Chanté had K-9. With a ten and a pair of threes on the board, another chopped pot looked like a distinct possibility.
But apparently, the poker gods weren't interested in watching these two split pots all night!
An EIGHT hit the river!
Just like that, Shiv caught one of his three remaining eights, took the pot, and ended the tournament!
Two hands, two river cards, two completely different outcomes. First the river saved Chanté, then it handed Shiv the victory. You couldn't have scripted a much more fitting finish!
Chanté settled for second place, while Wannie Armes continued her impressive run with a third-place finish. Wannie has now finished in the points in all six of her recorded Harvest Moon appearances, including five final tables and a tournament victory!
And speaking of impressive performances, Carol Anne Fitz-Robb apparently wasn't satisfied with winning last Sunday. She returned this week, finished fourth, and collected an incredible nine point-scoring bounties, the most of anyone on the night!
Lesli Gladstone also continued her remarkable consistency, finishing fifth for her 11th final table and 17th in-the-points finish of the season! If there's one thing we've learned about Lesli lately, it's that you can pretty much expect to find her name somewhere near the top of the results!
There were plenty of other familiar faces among the paid finishers, including Christina Kennedy, Dolly Catherwood, Karen Perrett, Beverley Terceira and Sophie Burrows, helping make this one of the strongest showings for the ladies we've seen in quite some time!
In the end, the women may have dominated the standings, but Shiv managed to walk away with the biggest prize.
And after watching those final two hands, I suspect Chanté might have a few words she'd like to exchange with the river! 🤠
